Todd Farmer concentrates his practice in business bankruptcy, personal bankruptcy, personal injury and tax resolution. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Kentucky and received his law degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law.Prior to founding Farmer and Wright, Todd was a partner with the law firm of Stout Farmer & King for ten years. Todd holds a Certified Public Accountant’s license and worked for Arthur Andersen in Cincinnati, Ohio and Deloitte & Touche in Lexington, Kentucky. Todd provided consulting services in business modeling, mergers and acquisitions, estate planning and tax controversies. Todd has also served as the president of a restaurant development company of a large franchise chain.Todd is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys and the American Bankruptcy Institute.

Professional Experience

Paducah attorney Sam Wright began his legal career in St. Louis, but returned to Western Kentucky where he currently practices personal bankruptcy, business bankruptcy and personal injury law. Sam completed his bachelors of science degree at Murray State University received his law degree from Southern Illinois University (SIU). He graduated with honors from SIU and served as the lead articles editor for the school’s flagship legal journal.

Sam has assisted clients in several areas of business law, including debtor and creditor issues, business litigation and other complex matters facing businesses and individuals filing for bankruptcy.

Now a founding partner of Farmer & Wright, PLLC, Sam assists clients at Farmer and Wright, walking them through the bankruptcy process and providing guidance on filing personal injury claims.

Sam Groft



Sam was a student-athlete at Spalding University where he received a Bachelor degree in Communication. Between undergrad and law school he worked a brief stint in marketing as well as an assembly job making armor and armaments for different branches of the military. 
He graduated from the University of Louisville’s Louis D. Brandeis School of Law. 

Sam has experience working on personal injury, civil rights, and bad faith cases as well personal and business bankruptcy.
He is a member of KBA, Kentucky State Courts, and is currently waiting to be admitted to the United States District Court for the Western District of Kentucky.

Tracy Shotfman



Prior to her legal career, Tracy worked in the financial industry as a teller and loan processor working at banks located in Clarksville, TN and military bases in Germany. Tracy started her legal career in Cincinnati Ohio as an E-Discovery attorney. She also was selected and participated in a Family Law Program with the Legal Aid of Cincinnati where she assisted low-income individuals with divorce proceedings. She currently practices in personal injury, personal bankruptcy, and disability law. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Austin Peay State University. She received her law degree in 2014 from the University of Dayton School of Law.

Christina Back


Christie received her BA, cum laude, from the University of Dayton in Political Science and Women’s and Gender Studies with a concentration in Catholic Social Teaching. Christie, returned home to her native Cleveland, and went on to earn her J.D. from Case Western Reserve University in 2014. While at Case, Christie participated in an exchange program where she studied law with a focus in European Business Law at Comillas Pontifica Universidad in Madrid, Spain.

Following a post doc fellowship, Christie was admitted to the Ohio bar in 2015. She is also admitted to the Southern District of Ohio. She has eight years of experience in immigration matters both family based and employment based as well as in removal defense. Christie has also been heavily involved in probate and family law matters through numerous volunteer projects such as Wills for Heroes and Wills for Vets, Dayton Volunteer Lawyers Project and her prior work experience. She also serves as an adjunct professor at Columbus State where she shares her love of legal research and writing, immigration law, and various other subjects with her students.

Christie is bilingual, enjoys participating in and volunteering for various Hispanic events and
organizations, and loves to train for long distance running events. She enjoys exploring coffee shops, libraries, parks, and museums with her two kids, and serves as a board member of Gloria Dei Montessori.
